Accommodations at Your Hawaiian Retreat We have three houses available for rent on Your Hawaiian Retreat and each one is as individualistic as the many people who have stayed with us over the years. Our retreat rests on the 1955 Kii lava flow and mother nature has turned, and is still turning this land, into a garden oasis. Since we want to keep it as Pele has made it, all of our power comes from solar and the water you drink is gathered from the skies. We also have free wireless internet and phone service to tell your friends back home how much you love this place! Our land also has and historic railway landmark right on our property. It is the site of an old railroad turn-around of the old Hilo Railroad which now serves as a unique gathering place. Below are brief descriptions of our houses and links to more details of each.
The Ohana House is the largest house and has a yoga and meditation hall. The ho sue sleeps ten people very comfortably but can manage well with up to fifteen. It has five bungalows which all face the ocean and the gardens. The structure was hand made in Bali, Indonesia, dismantled, shipped to the Big Island of Hawaii, and reassembled by the same people.
The Avocado Tree House is a two story structure with a living area on the bottom and a Reflection Room nestled up high in the branches of an Avocado Tree. The living area is comfortably furnished and big windows that look out over the nature reserve. It has a sink, an outhouse, and shower access in the main house. Artists and poets seem to be attracted to this playful space.
The Mango House is another two story structure that is in a more reclusive section of the property. It has a large second story porch with wonderful sunrise views of the ocean. A kitchen and dining room are downstairs and it has its own shower and bathroom facilities.
While you are here at Your Hawaiian Retreat the orchard and the grounds are yours to explore. Please take some time to look at our photographs of the lovely, organic, manicured and exotic gardens.
